ASSETS - After School Program

Students who need to make up an assignment due to an unexcused absence, a cut, or a missed deadline must attend two English ASSETs labs and bring back two signed attendance notes from ASSETs staff, stapled to their completed missing work.

• Tests must be made up within one week of the absence.
• Other assignments may be made up through the end of each grading period.

In Math ASSETs, students can:

• Catch up on notes, assignments, quizzes, or exams missed due to an absence.
• Work independently or in small groups on homework, with teacher or aide support available.
• Prepare for upcoming quizzes and exams.
• Retake any test or quiz from the current 6-week grading period. (Semester final exams are excluded.)
• Ask questions and get clarification on current math topics.

ASSETs supports Science students in three ways:

1. Before an assignment is due: Attend ASSETs, get assistance from the teacher, and have the ASSETs teacher sign your assignment to earn credit.
2. For past assignments: Attend a predetermined number of ASSETs sessions to make up partial credit on some assignments. Speak with your Science teacher in advance to arrange this.
3. For missed tests: Use ASSETs to make up tests given on days you were absent.

Students who attend a Social Studies ASSETs lab earn 10 points in their Social Studies class for completing any one of the following:

• Working on a current assignment (not yet due)
• Reviewing for an upcoming test or working on a study guide
• Reviewing material with the ASSETs teacher
• Other teacher-approved work, assignments, or review activities

Students may make up an excused absence from P.E. and earn classwork points by attending an approved Physical Education ASSETs class. Prior arrangements with your P.E. instructor are required.

CTE teachers may refer students to ASSETs to make up missing projects, written assignments, or tests. Here's how it works:

1. Your CTE teacher will determine how many ASSETs sessions are needed to potentially earn full credit. The ASSETs teacher will sign a form verifying your attendance and work, which will be returned to your CTE teacher.
2. Participation grades may potentially be made up in ASSETs activity classes, based on availability and at the teacher's discretion.
