About Our School

Welcome to Fort Bragg High School

At Fort Bragg High School, education and community are our highest priorities. Our central mission is to prepare all students for postsecondary success — whether that path leads to the workforce, career technical training, or higher education. Regardless of background or ability, every member of the Timberwolf community is united by three guiding principles:

  1. Be Respectful.
  2. Be Prepared.
  3. Work Hard.

Mission

To create a school community through dialogue and collaboration that promotes teamwork to achieve optimum student learning outcomes.

Vision

Educating Today's Students To Succeed In Tomorrow's World

Our Community

Fort Bragg is a historic coastal community of approximately 7,000 residents, located on the rugged and scenic North Coast of California. The town was originally settled by Finnish, Italian, and Portuguese immigrants, many of whose families remain part of the community today. In more recent decades, Latino immigrants — primarily of Mexican heritage — have become a significant and influential part of Fort Bragg's cultural fabric.

For generations, Fort Bragg High School has played a central role in the educational, social, and cultural life of this community. Traditionally, many graduates entered local industries such as logging, milling, and fishing, while others pursued higher education beyond the area. Over time, employment opportunities in these industries have declined due to resource depletion, environmental regulations, and advances in technology. The local economy has shifted increasingly toward tourism, while some families continue to face financial hardship or relocate in search of more stable employment.

As the community has evolved, so too has the mission of Fort Bragg High School. We recognize the importance of preparing students for a rapidly changing, technology-driven economy — including careers that may exist well beyond the local area. In recent years, the number of FBHS graduates demonstrating college readiness has grown, and many students also pursue postsecondary options through trade schools and career technical education programs. Our ongoing focus remains on ensuring every student graduates college and career ready.

Our Commitment

In response to the challenges our community faces, FBHS staff remain committed to holding high expectations and creating meaningful opportunities for every student. Teachers continuously strengthen and expand instructional practices that support academic achievement, postsecondary preparation, and workforce readiness.

By offering rigorous coursework alongside relevant career and technical learning experiences, Fort Bragg High School strives to meet the needs of both college-bound and career-focused students. As we prepare students for an ever-changing world, our staff and students continue to embrace new opportunities with resilience, adaptability, and a strong sense of community.
